A lock of hair cut by William Haslam [realia]. 1820 Sept.

A lock of John Keats's hair tied up with black string and accompanied by a sheet of paper (11.2 cm) with the following notes: "John Keats's hair cut off by Wm Haslam in Sept. 1820 just before Keats left England" and "This is my father's writing -- I found the small parcel among his papers after his death." The second note is dated 1881 and signed Walter Severn; the first note is presumably in Joseph Severn's hand.
